Sackville Ward Visit

Had a wonderful Sabbath Day visiting the Sackville Ward on Sunday.  We were able to see Elder Ray and Elder Wolvers who have been working diligently to bless the area.

Elder Wolvers and Elder Ray

What a remarkable ward–very kind and welcoming members.  Enjoyed so much meeting all of them and spending some time at the home of Bishop and Sister Johnson.

Annapolis Royal the Beautiful

We recently visited the beautiful Annapolis Royal Valley.  It is truly a picturesque area.

We saw our great missionaries, Elder Hatch and Elder Kelley.  They have been doing some creative missionary work.  They recently participated in a poetry reading event during the Annapolis Arts Unleashed celebration (I would have liked to have been there).

The members in the branch showed their hospitality at an after church “meet n greet.”  Very thoughtful!

NL Temple Trip

You can’t imagine the riveting stories we heard from our stalwart, happy St. Johns Branch members.  There were more than 20 members who traveled here to spend time in the temple for two days.  We were lucky enough to have some of them stay with us.  We will never forget it.

Prince Edward Island

Our first visit to Prince Edward Island, and we were not the least bit disappointed–it really is as beautiful as everyone says!

Our last stop was Charlottetown.  We met with some very great and kind people in the Charlottetown Ward.  We saw our 2 sets of missionaries–Sis. Moore and Sis. Barfuss as well as Elder Nielsen and Elder Batley.

Pres. Pratt has an added appreciation of our missionaries after his foray into street contacting.  We are both so impressed with all our great Elders and Sisters.  They work very hard and are truly obedient.

Weekend in Fredericton and Hampton New Brunswick

We traveled to Fredericton for a single adult conference and then on to Hampton for church on Sunday.  Loved meeting the faithful saints in that area who were so kind.  Also, had a nice visit with our faithful Elders Taylor and Wanlass.  They are doing great work there in the Kennebecasis Ward (not sure of the spelling!?)

So far just a couple of photos of our new arrivals.  Hope to have more to post later.  They are going to make great missionaries!

Zone Conference in Moncton, NB

Yesterday we had a wonderful zone conference in New Brunswick.  The training was exceptional and the missionaries happy and fun to be with.  Hope you enjoy the photos of these great missionaries. We tried to get photos of everyone, but they don’t always cooperate!

We have included a couple of photos taken from our car window on the drive there.  Wildflowers are everywhere on the sides of the road.

First Transfer Week

Last week was our first transfer week.  Tuesday evening we got 5 new (and tired) missionaries.  They had been traveling since 3 a.m. that morning.  We spent Wednesday training and feeding them and Thursday morning they were out the door on their way to their new areas.  Very excited to get to know this wonderful group of missionaries.

(Photos to Come)

Our departing missionaries attended a temple session Thursday at 3 p.m.  They then arrived at the mission home for dinner, a wonderful testimony meeting, and free time.  We all had a wonderful time while President Pratt was in bed sick for two days (hence the reason he is missing in the photos).  He recovered in time to take the missionaries to the airport Friday morning.  We didn’t spend a lot of time with these missionaries, but we miss them–they were so awesome!  Hope they are enjoying their time as civilians.
